Yes this post took me a while. I forgot how hectic some work weeks can be and it was a hell of a release at work. Anyway without further ado GIVE CAMP!
For the most part there was some sleeping after the first night of Give camp, some people were even sleeping in style!
We awoke to find a tasty layout for breakfast,
Well some of us awoke
After some chit chat and hanging out it was time for work, and time for me to get cracking at the events plug-in for Catching Joy’s site
. Although apparently my laptop thought it was a living carbon based organism and tried to have a drink. Thankfully it survived after some drying and a little meeting with 99.9% Isopropyl (never put water near computers when I am talking when tired, my italian heritage of talking with my hands tends to come out in spades
)
After many hours of fixing coding errors in the events manager plug-in I was able to beat it into submission (Now to be fair it is a great and useful plug-in don’t get me wrong, there are just a few standards that need to be applied to their coding style). Once beat into submission I took on widgetizing the sidebar. So many good times.
Sunday
The final stretch had arrived. with 4 hours of sleep and a bunch of cleaning up code we were ready. I swear we weren’t working on it up to the last 5 minutes before our presentation or anything. Marathon Coding FTW!
Look for Chasing Catching Joy‘s new site which should be up at some point in the near future! The site was made with:

It’s clear that I will never live down the catching/chasing joy mix-up.
It was great working with you at GiveCamp Fred, hopefully we will run into each other again for further geekery.
I would have to agree it was a blast
, and no you will not, partially because we were all so tired we started calling it Chasing Joy. I think she should rename it. If we do not run into each other for geekery we should make it happen. Random Marathon Coding project?
